Data protection regulation for the linking and use of IDM NAVIGATOR control with Amazon Echo and Alexa APP
With the release and use of the IDM NAVIGATOR control with Amazon Alexa and Echo in connection with voice commands (skills), the user consents to the following IDM Energiesystem GmbH (“IDM”) data-protection provisions.
Data processing
IDM collects, processes and transfers certain data in connection with the use of the interface and skills by the user. These data may contain personal data within the meaning of the applicable data-protection provisions.
To enable the use of Alexa and Echo in connection with the IDM NAVIGATOR control, IDM transfers the device and user data relevant for the use of the services subject to the user’s prior release of these data and the activation of the respective skills. Depending on the settings chosen by the user, these data contain information regarding the functions, the operation and environmental parameters of the NAVIGATOR control used by the user and connected with the Amazon services Alexa and Echo. These may include the following information: Target room temperature; room names and current operating mode; information about configured holiday programs and system operating modes.
IDM uses the respective data to the extent this is necessary for the operation of the interface and the skills in relation with Alexa and Echo.
In addition, IDM uses the data to provide the user with its own service and for statistical and for research purposes as well as the improvement of its own products and services and for the development of future skills that may be additionally linked up following activation by the user.
In addition, the myIDM Privacy Policy applies for the processing and use of data by IDM and was provided to the user during his/her registration at myIDM.
IDM is not responsible for the use and transfer of data to Amazon companies, in particular Amazon.com INC., Amazon Mobile LLC as well as Amazon Europe Core SARL, Amazon EU SARL, Amazon Services Europe SARL and Amazon Media EU SARL, Amazon Instant Video Limited and Amazon UK Services Ltd. Address information and details regarding these companies can be found under www.amazon.de, www.amazon.com and amazon.co.uk.
The responsibility for the data use and protection remains with the aforementioned Amazon companies. IDM refers the user to the privacy policies of these companies for their services and the Amazon products Alexa and Echo.
IDM retains the right to change or terminate the service (or parts thereof) either temporarily or permanently. You agree that IDM cannot be held liable to you or third parties for changes to or termination of the service.
Your rights
Please address further queries regarding data protection and data security to support@myidm.at. You have the right to address a complaint regarding the aforementioned data processing to the Austrian Data Protection Authority.
Regarding to the collection and processing of data by Amazon, please address your queries to Amazon according to the applicable Alexa and Echo terms of use.
In addition, you can request from IDM that your data and your user account be erased at support@myidm.at. Your data will be erased within 14 working days from the date of revocation.
